After an incredible career dedicated to helping pets and mentoring veterinary teams, we’re excited to share that Dr. Michael Graves will be stepping away from his role as Chief Veterinary Officer—but he’s not going far! While he’s retiring from day-to-day veterinary practice, we’re thrilled that he will continue to make an impact as a member of our Board.
Dr. Graves has been a driving force in veterinary medicine since 1982, not just as a veterinarian but as a leader, mentor, and advocate for high-quality pet care. Over his career, he’s owned and operated more than 20 small animal practices, including Pet Wellness Clinics, and has helped manage and consult with over 50 hospitals nationwide. His expertise, guidance, and passion have made a lasting impact on so many pets, clients, and fellow veterinary professionals. A proud Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine graduate (Class of 1982), Dr. Graves has always been deeply involved in the veterinary community.
Beyond his clinical and leadership contributions, Dr. Graves has been an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. His dedication to professional development and veterinary excellence has influenced many in the field.
Outside of work, Dr. Graves enjoys life in Carmel with his wife, Barbara, a registered veterinary technician, and their Australian Shepherd, Ruger. Their family also includes their two sons, Benjamin and Joshua, who have been a big part of his journey.
Dr. Graves, we can’t thank you enough for your leadership, dedication, and kindness. While we’ll miss seeing you in your daily role, we’re so grateful that you’ll continue to shape the future of veterinary care with us.
Here’s to your next chapter—congratulations!
