We are proud to recognize Dr. Mark Park as our Doctor of the Month. Known for his dedication, experience, and genuine care for both pets and their people, Dr. Park has made a lasting impact on our clinic and the families we serve. His journey has been anything but typical, as he initially set out to become a minister before ultimately following his passion for animal care.
Dr. Park’s journey into veterinary medicine began with a lifelong love of animals. Growing up with pets and working on his uncle’s farm from the age of 10 through high school, he developed a deep appreciation for animal care. His interest in medicine and natural problem-solving abilities made veterinary medicine the perfect fit. While his time on the farm was meaningful, it also helped him realize that livestock was not the path he wanted to pursue. With little experience around horses at the time, his future in small animal medicine began to take shape.
For Dr. Park, the most meaningful part of his work is being able to make a difference when it matters most. Whether diagnosing a serious or potentially life-threatening condition or performing life-saving treatment or surgery, he finds deep satisfaction in helping pets recover.
"The most rewarding part is seeing the smiles, the joy, the wagging tail, and/or the non-stop purring at the reunion of both pet and owner. I’ve made a difference. Making a difference is important to me."
One of Dr. Park’s favorite parts of working at our Noblesville Pet Wellness Clinic is the team he works alongside. He describes the clinic as a true work family, where staff support one another through both joyful and difficult moments. There is laughter, listening, and shared understanding, all centered around a common goal of providing the best care possible. He takes pride in watching the team collaborate and often feels like a father or even grandfather figure to many on staff. He also appreciates the broader leadership team for their efforts to bring balance and continuous improvement to the clinics.

Outside of his work, Dr. Park has lived a life filled with fascinating experiences and stories. As a child in Washington, D.C., he had the opportunity to meet and briefly speak with then-President Lyndon B. Johnson. His family also had strong ties to agriculture and public service, with his father serving as head of the USDA for the state of Indiana and building close connections with influential leaders in the field, including a future U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. Dr. Park even had a chance encounter with astronaut Neil Armstrong in an elevator at Purdue University.
He also has an adventurous side. Dr. Park enjoys scuba diving and once experienced the unforgettable moment of running out of air at 30 feet underwater, a story he’ll never forget.
Dr. Park’s dedication, compassion, and commitment to making a difference truly set him apart. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Mark Park on being our Doctor of the Month.
