Dr. Gray ~ Vet of the Month

Dr. Gray ~ Vet of the Month

This month, we’re excited to recognize Dr. Michelle Gray as our Vet of the Month at Airport Animal Emergi-Center (AAEC). As an emergency veterinarian, Dr. Gray’s skill, dedication, and passion for animals make a real difference every day for pets and their families.

Dr. Gray’s path to veterinary medicine wasn’t straight, but it was always guided by her love of animals. She started college as a psychiatry major, but a pivotal moment watching a family member tackle a difficult goal inspired her to follow her original dream with renewed focus. She transferred to Purdue, dove into veterinary medicine, and hasn’t looked back since.

In the ER, Dr. Gray thrives on the challenge and reward of emergency medicine. Helping critically ill pets and their worried owners and seeing them leave the clinic healthy and safe is what makes the job so fulfilling. Her compassion, quick thinking, and dedication leave a lasting impact on patients, clients, and colleagues alike.

What she loves most about AAEC is the team. The supportive environment lets her focus on what matters most: giving pets the best care possible. Working alongside Dr. Sheff, Dr. Gust, and the rest of the staff, she values collaboration and the chance to learn from her colleagues every day.

Dr. Gray has a surprising background in dairy and camelid medicine. From working with alpacas and small ruminants in Oregon to three weeks in rural Peru, she’s had some unforgettable experiences. While she now focuses on small animal emergency care, she still has a soft spot for “furry oddities” like alpacas.

Dr. Gray’s skill, compassion, and teamwork truly reflect the values of AAEC. We’re grateful for the energy and dedication she brings to the clinic every day. Congratulations, Dr. Gray, on being our Vet of the Month, and thank you for all that you do for our patients and their families.
