Dr. Jen Merckel was born and raised in New York City. She completed a bachelor's degree at Vassar College in Upstate New York. She then graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 after completing her clinical year at Purdue University.

Her passion in veterinary medicine lies in building relationships with clients and partnering with them in their pet's care. As a proud Spanish speaking, second generation American of Colombian descent, she also loves being able to help pet parents who benefit from bilingual care.

Dr. Merckel now lives in Hendricks County with her husband Anthony, their 2 daughters, and their 5 dogs. They have a senior island mutt, a chihuahua, a pomeranian, and a pair of mischievous corgi puppies. If asked, she wouldn't want to raise kids anywhere else, even if she does feel more at peace on a beach. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she is newly interested in thrifting, gardening, and home design.
