The new year brings new goals and new opportunities for you to bond with your pet and develop healthier habits. There are many ways we can improve the lives of our furry friends, and the new year is a great time to get started.
Commit to Better Health
Schedule an annual wellness exam with your veterinarian. Make sure your pet is current on annual vaccinations as well as flea, tick and heartworm medications, which should be given year-round. Plus, in addition to an overall check of your pet, your vet can spot out-of-the-ordinary conditions early.
Make Exercise Fun
Include your furry friend in your exercise routine, so you can both stay healthy and happy. The new year gives you the chance to try a new activity and bond with your pet. Also, incorporate more playtime with your pet by adding in some new toys. Try a new squeaky toy, crinkly balls — or even cardboard boxes!
At-Home Care
Grooming your pet at home daily removes excess hair, decreases shedding and keeps your pet’s coat shiny and skin healthy. And practice good oral hygiene — daily teeth brushing is the best way to decrease tartar and plaque buildup.
Don’t forget to ensure your pet’s ID tag and microchip information are up to date. Make 2023 a wonderful year for you — and your pet, too!
